Pick Up This Week

This Tuesday (Sept 1) and Thursday (Sept 3) afternoons at 6PM - 8pm, the UGA Ultimate Program is having pick up games at the NEW Club Sports Complex out on Milledge Ave. Look at the bottom of this post for directions.

These pick up games are for ANYONE who wants to come out and play ultimate. Bring a white shirt, a dark shirt, a lot of water, and cleats. Come out and bring some friends to play some ultimate!

Also, don't forget to sign up for Fall League here. Deadline for Fall League is September 7, 2009.

QUICK DIRECTIONS TO THE NEW CLUB SPORTS COMPLEX
1. Get on Milledge Ave. and head towards the Loop.
2. You will pass the softball fields and soccer fields on the right hand side. Keep going.
3. On the left, you will see a sign that says Club Sports Complex. Take a left.
4. Go over rail road tracks, take immediate left. That will take you to the parking lot. You will pass a red barn on the way to the fields.

Sign Up For Fall League

Interested in playing in an Ultimate Frisbee Intramural League? The UGA Men's ultimate team (Jojah) is running Fall League. Games are scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at the NEW IM fields (near the Softball Field on Milledge). Sign up by September 7, 2009 in order to get into the league!

Things to know about Fall League 2009:
The $25 league dues (paypal, check, or cash) gets you a jersey, 6 weeks of highly competitive ultimate, an invaluable learning experience, and an end of the season tournament. You will be placed on a team with a balanced number of experienced players so that everyone can improve. If you can't commit to every single night, that's fine!

I started playing ultimate frisbee at UGA by attending fall league my freshman year. I had never played ultimate, didn't know how to throw well, or didn't know much about organized ultimate. Through playing every Tuesday/Thursday, learning from my teammates and captains, and having a mentality of wanting to have as much fun as possible, I improved a lot and made the B Team (Chilli Dawgs) at the end of Fall League. The best thing about Fall League was the invaluable experience/advice/coaching I got from my captains and teammates who played for the UGA club Ultimate teams.
